Wild About Health
A different kind of wellbeing
Living Well, Naturally
At Westerlands, we believe true health starts outdoors. Long before “wellness” became an industry, it was a way of living: grounded in soil, community, movement, and the quiet wisdom of the natural world. Wild About Health is our invitation to return to that rhythm.
-
Our evidence-based approach to wellbeing is grounded in the science of nature and human health.
Born from our regenerative land‑care work on the farm and estate, the concept reflects a discovery that has shaped our philosophy: as we heal the land, the land heals us too.

Sleep Reset
Shaped by Heritage
Westerlands—originally “Waterlands”—rests on ancient wetlands, sand, and fertile soils. First chosen by Saxon settlers, these same natural features continue to guide our approach to sustainable living.
-
Our natural springs flow through the estate from high up on the South Downs, providing fresh borehole water to the plunge pool, guest cabins, our horses, and even the Horsebox Café.
Every sip and every experience is a reminder of nature’s enduring generosity, sustaining us in ways both simple, profound, and timeless.
Natural Elements
-

Earth
Healthy, living soil lies at the heart of Westerlands’ regenerative approach to farming, supporting the land, our livestock, and the wildlife that thrives here.
-

Water
Natural springs flow through Westerlands from high up on the South Downs, providing fresh borehole water to our farm, our cabins and our plunge pool.
-

Air
Set within 500 acres at the heart of the South Downs, with wide open skies and fresh, clean air, Westerlands offers a sense of space, clarity, and wellbeing.
-

Fire
Biomass boilers provide sustainable heat across our properties. Combined with fireplaces and firepits, Westerlands offers a warm welcome—quite literally.
Why Wild About Health?
Because modern life is noisy.
Because wellness has become performative.
Because we’re all craving something real.
Wild About Health is a return to ancient wisdom:
𖦹 regenerative, not extractive
𖦹 communal, not individualistic
𖦹 cyclical, not rushed
𖦹 integrated, not escapist
At Westerlands, health becomes a rhythm, shaped by light and dark, the full moon and by seasons.
Nature’s Rhythms
-

Circadian
At Westerlands, life on the farm is guided by the daily rhythm of light and dark. The balance of day and night creates natural times of energy and rest, supporting harmony and wellbeing for our guests and residents.
-

Celestial
Set at the heart of a dark sky reserve, Westerlands offers our guests an immersive connection to the night sky, where the moon’s monthly rhythm gently shapes energy and mood, inviting moments of pause and renewal.
-

Seasonal
Life at Westerlands unfolds with the rhythm of the four seasons. Changes in light, temperature, and rainfall shape the behaviour and wellbeing of the land, our livestock, our visitors and the wildlife that surrounds us.
