Bookings close 18hrs before appointments because our staff need enough notice to ensure they are on site to prepare the sauna and plunge pool for each booking.

Cancellations require 48hrs notice for a full refund.

WildSpa Sauna & Plunge is located in a secluded spot beyond Westerlands House with stunning uninterrupted views of the South Downs.

Easily accessible from the Rose Room, a winding path cuts through the grass and leads directly to the private WildSpa garden. This is a peaceful escape exclusively yours for an hour to relax and reconnect with nature.

WildSpa Waiver

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, we ask participants to sign a waiver for the sauna and cold plunge when they book a session. This helps everyone understand potential risks while encouraging a positive and informed experience for all.

If you are booking for a group then you assume responsibility for all participants in your session so please ensure they are medically fit enough to enjoy the experience safely.

How does Hot Sauna Therapy affect my body?

A sauna use can raise the skin temperature to approx 40°C and as the skin temperature rises, heavy sweating also occurs and it is not uncommon to lose up to a pint of sweat in a sauna so it is important to stay hydrated. The heart rate also rises as the body attempts to keep cool so it's important for those with health conditions to speak with their doctor first.

The optimal duration for sauna use varies based on individual goals, heat adaptation, hydration and your overall health. There’s a minimum effective dose for health benefits, so staying in long enough is important. Always remember that the heat can lower blood pressure, causing dizziness so always stand up slowly and be aware of your surroundings.

Beginners should start with brief sessions (around 10-15 minutes) and gradually increase duration as they adapt.

How does Cold Water Therapy affect my body?

Cold water therapy activates the sympathetic nervous system, leading to a release of hormones like adrenaline. This response causes constricted blood vessels, rapid breathing, increased heart rate, and a redistribution of blood to vital organs to conserve heat.

The shock of cold water can cause arrhythmias and other cardiac problems, even short exposures can be risky, so it's important for those with health conditions to speak with their doctor first.
