Learning with horses provides a transformative experience for young people. Through hands-on interaction, children build confidence, resilience, teamwork, and other transferrable skills. Personal growth is celebrated in a safe environment with achievement awards recognising effort and progress.

  • Changing Lives

    AGE 5-25
    Mondays & Fridays £140/day

    Changing Lives Through Horses is an alternative education programme created by the British Horse Society to help young people build vital life skills and find positive pathways for the future. Using the transformative bond between horses and humans, the programme provides a safe and nurturing space where participants can develop six key life skills and foster personal growth including resilience and self-esteem.

    CHILDREN AGE 6-15
    6 week programme £300

    Fridays starting on 17 April 2026
    Fridays starting on 5 June 2026

    Saddle Club is a programme created for Home Educated students aged 6-15. it’s a structured educational journey into the world of horses through hands-on experiences and the unique bond between horses and humans.

They will naturally seek out herbs for general health and they instinctively seek out medicinal herbs to aid any ailments they may have. Domesticated horses do not have access to this variety of herbs, so at Westerlands we bring the herbs to the horses.
